Title: Some Texas beef, ' on the hoof', arrives in Washington on way to World's Fair. Washington, D.C., April 7. Not so long ago 'Scandalous John', giant and gentle Hereford bull started out to hoof it to the World's fair. Before arriving at New York, John stopped off to see Washington and to see if his Congressmen couldn't come along. Somebody asked if the trailer in which the bull arrived had merely come along to transport the bull through cities, but no answer was forthcoming. Anyway, Senator Tom Conolly, Ellen Edgemon from Weatherford, and Rep. George H. Mahcall(?) from Texas, posed for photographs. John is unique in that he is 'saddle broke'. 4/7/39
