Title: Pan American awarded New York-Bermuda airmail contract. Washington, D.C., Jan. 15. Submitting the only bid, Pan American Airways today was awarded the contract to carry air mail from New York to Hamilton, Bermuda. In announcing the bid the Post Office Department said the following rates would prevail --.00001 cents per pound for a specified load of 800 pounds and .000005 cents per pound over 800 pounds.
