Summary: Photographs show Washington streets and neighborhoods around the turn of the century. Residents of neighborhoods near their houses, people shopping and walking on the downtown sidewalks, typical clothing styles, and modes of transportation. Some high views (cityscapes), when adjoined, form panoramas. Includes a few building interiors and portraits.
Notes:
Arrangement: Arrangement: Subdivided into five sections: NW, NE, SE, SW, and Unidentified.
Most views have been tentatively identified. Prints were produced by the Library from original glass plate negatives in filing series LC-Z7 and LC-Z71. Some negatives are badly deteriorated.
