Summary: Landscape drawing shows British soldiers carrying the injured to a rowboat on the shore of Lake Ontario in the foreground, while on a hill in the background British troops overwhelm the American Fort Oswego during the War of 1812. The 2nd battalion of the Royal Marines, under Lieutenant General Sir George Gordon Drummond, was sent to assist Commodore James Lucas Yeo on Lake Ontario. The British took possession of the fort with minor skirmishing that day.
