Title: Seven million unemployed due to influx of new workers, senate committee told. Washington, D.C., Jan. 5. By means of a chart Virgil Jordan, President of the National Industrial Conference, tells the Special Senate Committee on unemployment that an influx of new workers and a 'normal labor reserve' would account for approximately seven million of the unemployed. He also testified that there are 5,000,000 workers who have come into the labor market since 1929 and 2,500,000 additional who comprise the normal labor reserve, 1/5/38
