Later Walt decides to solve future problems by buying a bigger hat. Gasoline Alley was begun in 1918 (or 1919) focusing on cars. Baby Skeezix arrived as a foundling in 1921 to add interest for women. The strip was the first in which the characters aged in real time. King died in 1969, but the strip is still published today.
