Note on verso: UN votes 'Warmonger' compromise Lake Sucess, N.Y.: United Nations delegates on the 57-nation political committee of the General Assembly vote Oct. 27th on Poland's compromise proposal for a Soviet resolution against 'warmongering.' The Polish compromise lost, 23-18, with 14 abstentions. Later, however, a general condemnation of all forms of propaganda which 'provoke or encourage' war was adopted unanimously by the Committee. Both Russia and the U.S. voted in favor of the compromise, which was limited by an American proposal for action only within the constitutional limits of each government.
