Title: Treasury prepares to release flood of Social Security checks. Washington, D.C., Dec. 14. January 1 will see the Treasury's Division of Disbursement taking upon the additional duty of issuing thousands of checks each month to social security beneficiaries. They are now making 2,000 addressograph plates a day for the checks shown running off here, and expect to have about a million plates in file by the end of 1940.
