Title: Barrels make satisfactory storage. Fill a barrel with vegetables or fruit and lay it lengthwise. Cover with a layer of straw, then a layer of dirt, then another layer of straw and a layer of dirt. Put straw in the end of the barrel before putting the cover in place. Dig a ditch around the mounded barrel to serve as a drain
