On verso: Tal-a-mas-mico, or John D. Bemo, was born and raised in Florida, in the Seminole Tribe of Indians, and was educated in Philadelphia. For the last twenty four years he has been labouring as Missionary in the Indian Territory, among his people, in which time he has baptized over five thousand Indians. He speaks eight languages: Latin, Greek, Hedrew [i.e., Hebrew], and the language of the several tribes in the Territory.
