Note on verso: This car carrying supporters of Paul Robeson from concert grounds near Peekskill, New York, Sept. 4, was overturned by demonstrators protesting his appearance. Hurled rocks and stones smashed windshield and dented body and hood. Cars and buses leaving the abandoned golf course where the left-wing Negro singer appeared were forced to run a gantlet of stones and rocks. Dozens of persons were reported injured.
