Secretary Henry Wallace today told the Senate Banking and Currency Committee, which is considering a bill to revamp the Farm Credit System, that farmers need relief from 'excessive interest charges and debts which they cannot pay.' He approved the general objectives of the bill, but suggested changes which he said would result in a 'sounder government credit policy,' and clear up the present 'farm debt muddle.'
