Title: United States Secret Service gets new chief. Washington, D.C., Dec. 31. William H. Moran, retiring Chief of the United States Secret Service, congratulates his successor Frank J. Wilson, whose appointment was announced today at the Treasury. Morgenthau is in the center. Moran has spent 54 years in the Service and the last 19 as its Chief. Wilson, who has had a distinguished career in the government, has been Acting Assistant Chief of the Secrect Service since Sept. 8. Prior to that he was the 'Ace' of the Intelligence Unit of the Internal Revenue, his greatest achievments being recorded in connection with the conviction of Al Capone for income tax evasions, and in connection with the kidnapping of the Lingbergh baby
