Building/structure dates: 1741.
This church was the scene of Patrick Henry's great speech. Henrico Parish was founded in 1611, only four years after settlement of Jamestown. Church is one of the oldest wooden buildings now standing in Va. Land given by Col. Wm Byrd of Westover.
Trancept was added on the north side before the Revolution. This was lengthened and made into the main body of the church, and a chancel erected on the south side in the past century.
