Five years of conservation accomplishments under the Taylor Grazing Act of 1934 was signalized today by the Secretary of Interior Harold Ickes in the presentation of a historic gavel to Rep. Edward T. Taylor, of Colorado, author of the first federal grazing control legislation. The gavel is made from walnut wood cut from the public domain and bears a plate of New Mexico silver.
