Inscribed on verso: This uniform is dark blue shirt belted round waist black felt hat, and gray pants. the blanket is scarlet with black bar near edge. Try and keep the likeness of the Captain his beard is very gray./And when you have done with this sketch enclose it in an envelope and direct it to Dr. Helme Comp. C. 1st R.I. regiment. Washington, D.C.
