Summary: Four-panel comic strip showing Pete, an old bearded prospector, his burro Sal, and his partner Slim struggling through the snow, trying to reach a timber claim. After they camp in Dead Tree Pass, overlooking the Haunted Valley, Slim is frightened by a screech and runs away. The strip, published in the Newark Evening News from Mar. 29-Oct. 2, 1926, was based on the cartoonist's experiences prospecting in the Klondike.
