Biographical note: Louis Freeland Post was a lawyer, editor, and author. The Manuscript Division holds his papers, which span the years 1864-1939 and number 600 items. They are accompanied by a finding aid. Included are his correspondence with William Jennings Bryan (1900-1922), the manuscript of his autobiography (Living a Long Life Over Again), book manuscripts (Delirium of Nineteen Twenty and The Prophet of San Francisco), and many articles written for various national magazines and newspapers. The photographs were transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division.
