Summary: Banquet camera portraits of groups of black and white citizens in Washington, D.C. Republican National Committee meetings and banquet in the Carleton Hotel, presidents of Republican women's clubs, Presidents Coolidge and Hoover in group photos taken in front of the White House, a dinner held by Perry W. Howard in the Whitelaw Hotel, and prominent black citizens such as Mary Church Terrell, Eugene P. Booze, and Mary Montgomery Booze.

Biographical note: The Manuscript Division holds the Montgomery Family Papers, which number 12 items and span the years 1872-1938. Isaiah Thornton Montgomery (1847-1924) founded a black community in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, in 1887. The holdings include a master's thesis on Mound Bayou, a transcript entitled 'The Montgomery Saga, from Slavery to Black Power,' Mary Virginia Montgomery's diary, and biographical sketches of Mary Cordelia Booze (Isaiah's daughter) and her husband Eugene P. Booze. The photographs were transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division.
