Joseph Curran, President of the National Maritime Union, today told the Senate Commerce Committee that 'I have not been a Communist, I am not a Communist and I do not believe that I ever intend to be a Communist.' Curran, (right) shown with Senator Royal S. Copeland, Chairman of the committee, was accused last week of being a Communist by Joseph P. Ryan, President of the International Longshoremen's Association, an A.F. of L. affiliate, 2/17/38
