Summary: Print shows Minerva, gazing fondly heavenward, standing on the top level of a tiered checkerboard, holding a pike with banner and a shield with the likeness of Medusa on it; in a pastoral setting is a member of the third estate with a plow drawn by two oxen, from his waist, extending upward, behind his back, are sheaves of abundance, wheat, palms, roses, and laurels, supporting the estates general, members of the clergy, soldiers, and lawyers, also Truth cradling a crowned figure; the sun, radiant, with stars and bubbles bearing fleur-de-lis drive away the dark clouds crowding the sky.
