Photograph shows Little Tokyo shops on East First Street (later made a National Historic Landmark), restaurants, and a hotel, including Hori Bros., Pacific Printing Co., Sakura, Chop Suey, Sukiyaki, and S. Kataoka's optometrist shop, which would be closed before Japanese Americans were incarcerated at concentration camps during World War II. Many Japanese Americans temporarily or permanently lost their property as a result of Executive Order 9066.
