From verso: A study in slender beauty. Of somewhat unusual pattern is this delicate mansion, Linden, near Natchez. The original section was built in 1783 and the flanking wings in 1825. The long gallery measures 90 feet; the balustrade at the second level, and the portico with its circular glass window, are much admired.
