Akbar Daftary, Charge D'Affaires for [Iran], today took up his duties at the Iran Legation signaling reopening of official cordiality between Iran and this country. The legation has been closed for two years following the recall of the then Iranian Minister, Ghaffar Djalar, as a result of the Minister's arrest in nearby Elkton, Md., in a traffic case, 2-4-39
