Eckner, Chairman of the Board of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., told the Monopoly Study Committee that the past ten years' average annual dividends represented $100,000,000. He said that he wanted to remove the impression that $20,900,000,000 excess of income over expenditures of 308 reserve life insurance companies between 1918 and 1937 represented profit, 2-7-39
