Summary: Illustration shows a frightened young man taking notes, standing before a large overbearing woman, smoking a pipe, standing in a doorway with her hands on her hips and two small children at her side. The caption reads, 'Census Man -- What is your husband's full name? Mrs. Grogan -- Shure, whin he's full he thinks ut's Jim Jeffries 'till he gits home!' Jim Jeffries was world heavyweight boxing champion from 1899 to 1905. Rose O'Neill was an author and illustrator, but was best known for her creation of the Kewpie Doll. While married to Gray Latham, she signed her work O'Neill-Latham.
