Close-ups of men, women, and children, both black and white, watching the procession; many openly weeping. Gen. George C. Marshall saluting.

The 6 contact sheets contain 62 images.
A handwritten note on an accompanying envelope states that these were taken for Time Magazine. The 58 photos were made by the Library of Congress from original negatives, 44 of which are filed in series LC-T2. The other 14 negatives no longer exist. Additional subjects are found in transparency series LC-T21 (4 35-mm color transparencies of the Franklin D. Roosevelt funeral procession) and LC-T22 (8 color transparencies, 6 x 6 cm. and 10 x 13 cm. of Eisenhower administration notables, including Mrs. Richard Nixon, James C. Hagerty, and Charles E. Wilson).
