Caption: Ex-mayor Mitchell's (i.e. Mitchel) funeral attended by notable men as a mark of respect to a soldier and a man. Photo shows the casket of Ex-Mayor Mitchell (sic) as it passed 42nd. St. on Fifth Avenue on its way to St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York. Immense throngs crowded the streets to review the funeral procession and aeroplanes flew over the hearse and showered flowers on it. The ceremonies were very impressive.
