Caption: Routing out the Germans in hand to hand encounters at the battle of Neuve Chappelle. F. Matania of the London Sphere paints a scene described to him of the battle of Neuve Chappelle in which he depicts accurately the character of the close hand to hand encounters in the trenches and above them which resulted in victory for the Britishers. It shows the desperate character of the fighting.
