Fighting in France for freedom! Are you helping at home?

Title: Fighting in France for freedom! Are you helping at home?
Date Created/Published: New Haven, Conn. : Illustrated Current News, [1918]
Summary: Poster showing workers standing along the barrel of an enormous cannon.
Notes:
Text continues: The War Industry Board says: 'Don't start any non-war construction over $2,500 without a permit.' To secure such a permit make application, stating the facts under oath to your local agency of your Committee on Public Information. This is an order of the government and must be obeyed.
Caption: 'Force without stint' and larger guns will probably be United States' answer to Austria's peace negotiations. Austria's plea for a confidential discussion with a view to peace will be answered by United States by more guns until victory is achieved. The above is an illustration of the long 16 inch gun which is being shipped over seas to carry out this program. It fires a 2400 pound projectile at a speed of half a mile a second.
