Includes among other subjects, the Washington Monument and Mall; the Scottish Rite Temple; the Washington Cathedral; the Stoddert House; St. Paul's Church; Lincoln Memorial; Arlington Memorial Bridge under construction; the tomb of the unknown soldier; Dumbarton House; Fort Lincoln Cemetery; Tudor Place; the Octagon House; the Patent Office building; the Capitol (from an 1865 photograph); views of the canal and houses in Georgetown; one image of African American children playing baseball in the rear of alley houses at London Court; several views of a peanut vendor on the Mall. Also includes reproductions of some Work Projects Administration murals; some views of a housing development in Greenbelt, Md. Postcards show exterior and interior views of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart; Dumbarton House; and the Universalist National Memorial Church.
