Summary: Photographs show informal groups and single portraits of naval officers, Shriners, newspapermen, and presidential parties. Subjects include the U.S. Navy Band on the grounds of the White House; Eleanor and Franklin D. Roosevelt on board navy ships; Josephus Daniels with Eleanor Roosevelt and Mrs. Woodrow Wilson; Franklin D. Roosevelt at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia (1936); the XPB2Y plane at Anacostia, after the plane flew nonstop from San Diego in thirteen hours (October 27, 1938). Two photographs show Eleanor Roosevelt and Josephus Daniels listening to Franklin D. Roosevelt speaking to Congress, vetoing the $2.2 million Patman (Soldier) Bonus Bill (May 22, 1935).
