Title: [A child sitting on the ground at entrance to dwelling, playing with a tea kettle]
Creator(s): Kafer, Lawrence, photographer

Notes:
Title devised by Library staff.
Caption: Forlorn? Yes. This child's mother - Nellie Crosby - has tuberculosis. He definitely shows signs of malnutrition and the odds are that he has active tuberculosis, too. Chances of his living past 50 are against him unless something is done to educate him and at the same time give him medical care and food.
