Cartoon,matter of horse sense,currency,Lute Pease,c1933

Title: A matter of horse sense / Lute Pease.
Creator(s): Pease, Lute, 1869-1963, artist
Date Created/Published: [1933?]
Summary: Cartoon shows Uncle Sam calculating dollars, John Bull calculating pounds, and a Frenchman calculating francs. Behind them in the rain stands a weary horse (labeled 'Money'), barred by a door labeled 'International Agreement' from entering a shed labeled 'Stabilization.' One of the casualties of the Great Depression was currency stability. Although most economists believed the situation could be cured only by international action, the great powers were unable to reach any agreement at the 1933 London Economic Conference.
