Summary: Drawing shows two men standing on the edge of a plateau, lower left, and pointing toward a group of covered wagons camped by a river in the distance. Mountains rise up on the opposite side of the river. This camp may have been in Utah near present-day Salt Lake City, as Jenks noted in his diary on Tuesday, July 12, 1859, 'no timber here and none from between here and Salt Lake City.'
