Caption continues on back: '...The tray evidently contains the ingredients for a 'Cocktail' an exhilarating 'pick-me-up' in the making of which most new arrivals soon become adepts. The habit of consuming 'Cocktails' is often so confirmed, that once an Amateur Jockey at Shanghai, is said to have believed that he was going into severe training for a Steeple Chase because for a short time before the races, he omitted the 'Curac?oa' in his Cocktail!'
