Summary: Drawing shows a boy walking from the train station at Market Schorgast in Germany as he carries a large basket on his back with Taylor's luggage in it. Bayard Taylor traveled through Germany several times in his life, between 1844 and his death in 1879, but the manuscript makes it clear that he is an older man. The drawing is accompanied by page fourteen of a manuscript in which he describes a hike to the Fichtelgebirge, a mountain on the German Czech border.
