Summary: Includes a bridge at Milwaukee, Wisc.; the N.J. Volunteer Infantry building a bridge at Paterson, N.J.; two photographs taken by Timothy O'Sullivan during Clarence King's Geological Expedition of the Fortieth Parallel, 1867-69. One of these photographs shows Cottonwood Lake, Utah, the other shows East Humboldt Mountains, Nevada. Other subjects include a ground plan and drawing of Fort McAllister, Ga.; a site plan of Fort Hindman, Ark.; several views of the Harbor of Refuge, Mich.; a ship canal at Sault Sainte Marie, Mich. by J.E. Davidson; art reproductions, including two depicting lighthouses at Race Rocks, B.C.; and Spectacle Reef, Mich.; one art reproduction of a painting by James E. Taylor depicting Gen. Custer and the U.S. Cavalry at the Washita Campaign of 1868; one view of a hotel and church at Trinity Square, Boston, Mass.
