Inscribed lower left: June 30th. Inscribed above image: The 16th N.Y. all wore white straw hats and were without knapsacks but wore the haversack and canteen. They laid down preserving their lines in varied positions. Their duty being to support the artillery. the 27th N.Y. Same as the 16 but without straw hats.
