Summary: Print shows the ascent of Jean Pierre Blanchard's balloon from Nuremberg, November 12, 1787. The balloon, with the flags of the Bourbons and of Nuremberg attached to the balloon basket, is rising above the filling tower. In the foreground, spectators are gathered to witness the ascension, including viewers in three carriages and several men astride horses. As he rises, Blanchard is scattering leaflets announcing his future ascents.
