Summary: Drawing shows Christiania, today known as Oslo, the capital of Norway from the Oslofjorden (a deep inlet of the Skagerrak), a fjord. The water is dotted with rowboats, sailboats and sidewheel steamships. The mountains rise up on three sides. Bayard Taylor traveled through Scandinavia, including Norway, in 1856 and 1857 after the death of his first wife.
