Summary: Four-panel comic strip showing Pete, a bearded prospector, and his young friend Sid racing their double-crossing partner Slim to the land claims office. As Pete tries to cross a log across a roaring stream, Slim and his accomplice push it into the water. Pete manages to ride the log down the river until he is rescued by Sid with his lasso. The strip, published in the Newark Evening News from Mar. 29-Oct. 2, 1926, was based on the cartoonist's experiences prospecting in the Klondike.
