Summary: Four-panel comic strip showing Pete's old partner Slim who has come upon the old bootlegger who had fired on Pete and Kid Sid. Slim accepts the bootlegger's false story and joins him in trying to beat Pete and Kid Sid to the U.S. Land Office to file a claim. Pete and Sid discover the two have gone and race them for the claims office. The strip, published in the Newark Evening News from Mar. 29-Oct. 2, 1926, was based on the cartoonist's experiences prospecting in the Klondike.
