'Lenine calls for return of intellectuals' News dispatch,Vladimir Ilich Lenin

Title: 'Lenine calls for return of intellectuals' News dispatch.
Creator(s): Pease, Lute, 1869-1963, artist
Date Created/Published: [1921?]
Summary: Cartoon shows Soviet leader Lenin pointing to an unconscious figure (labeled 'Russia') lying on a rough table. A massive club and a metal mallet lie propped against the table. Lenin says: 'I have successfully removed his brains -- but now it seems that he needs them.' Probably refers to Lenin's admission in 1921 that the Communist revolution had proceeded too rapidly and his new emphasis on the needs for the skills of the 'specialist' classes.
